  • Why should I train Brazilian Jiu Jitsu?

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is not just about learning chokes and submissions. It's also a great way to stay fit, and that's just the beginning! We have seen children and adults alike experience increases in confidence, decreases in social anxiety, and improvements in health. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a challenge for both mind and body.

  • What is a good age to start training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu?

As a general rule, 4 years old and up is a good age for kids to start training. Adults of any age can benefit from Jiu Jitsu.

  • Do you have to be an already established athlete to train Brazilian Jiu Jitsu?

No, BJJ is for everyone, regardless of size, shape, age, or athletic experience.

  • How long does it take to earn a black belt?

The average time is 10-15 years.  

" It's not who's good; it's who's left. It's the hours on the mat. If you put in that time, natural athlete or not, you'll be a black belt. You're going to be somewhere in ten years, why not be a black belt? You just can't quit.

  • Are private lessons availabe?

Yes! Private lessons are available for all students, beginners and advanced. One on one instruction is a great tool to increase your rate of learning. Another advantage to private lessons is instructions is taylored specifically to your individual game. Also, not everyone feels comfortable starting in a group setting. Private lessons allow for individual instruction in a low stress environment.

  • What should I wear to classes?

We wear the traditional gi, which is available to purchase once you sign up for membership. During our no gi classes, we suggest you wear comfortable yet form-fitting work out gear.
